About Sawan Public School
A residential school for boys – Sawan Public School was set up in 1974 by the S.J. Jindal Trust and caters to children from class IV- XII. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, the school offers the All India Secondary and Senior Secondary School Examinations for classes X and XII. The school session extends from April to March and is divided in two terms – April to November and December to March.
Located about 12 kms from Qutab Minar on the Bhatti Mines Road near Radha Soami Satsang Beas the school has a salubrious and quiet environment where children can focus on their studies away from noisy distractions.
The academic emphasis is strong with a good teacher pupil ratio that is well under 1:15 for each class. The school’s day is divided into 4 segments for the children – morning rousers and exercises, academic instruction in the classrooms, prep hours for reinforcing concepts and sports and hobby classes in the evening.
Additionally there is a large and well-equipped library, a media room, a computer lab and an art room where children spend a lot of time in learning and recreation.
The school believes in the need for every student to take up various projects to reinforce their learning across various subjects. All children are encouraged to participate in various competitions across schools to develop confidence and self esteem as well as mastery of certain skills like public speaking, debating etc.
The school has hostel facilities and a large mess that caters to the children’s requirements. The school provides 3 meals and 2 snacks a day for children that have been approved by dieticians for growing children. Additionally the hostel has a common room for children to relax at the end of the day. The school also provides a clinic with a doctor on call for children who may need medical attention.
The large sports fields are used actively by students who are encouraged to play games of their choice – football and cricket being the clear favourites.
